This indenture made this the 12th of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred sixty nine between Emsley Allred and wife Emily Allred, Jesse Allred and wife Amy, Haywood Marley and wife Sylvania, Isabella Allred, Lydia Allred, Maloy Allred and wife Rachel Allred of the county of Randolph and state of North Carolina on the one part and Riley W. Jones and wife Mary Jones of the county of Randolph and State of N Carolina on the other part - Witnesseth that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty seven dollars and fifty cents the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged have given granted bargained sold and conveyed and dues hereby give grant bargain sell and convey to the said party of the second part their heirs and assigns all their interest in that tract of land lying and being in the county of Randolph and state aforesaid on the waters of Sandy Creek adjoining the lands of P.P. Freeman and others bounded as follows beginning at a stone at P. P. Freeman's corner running thence south 14 chains and 10 links to a black jack in the original line thence west eleven chains 33 links t a pine thence south 4 chains ninety links to a spanish oak in the original line thence west on said line fifteen chains to a stone thence north ninteen chains to a dead poplar thence east to the beginning containing forty four and a half acres of land to be the same more or less - to have and to hold the same with the appurtenaces thereunto belonging to Riley W. Jones and wife Mary Jones the aid party of the second part their heirs and assigns forever and the said do hereby covenant and agree to warrant and defend the premises aforesaid to the said party of the second part their executors administrators and assigns against the claims and entry of all persons whatsoever and they do further covenant that the said party of the second part is seized of the premises in fee simple and has power to make and convey such an estate by this indenture and has done the same by these presents - In witness whereof the said party of the first part have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and date above written.
