Who Are
THOMAS ALBRED, JANE ALBREAD, JOHN
ALBREAD?
1764
Orange County, North Carolina, Court Pleas and Quarter Sessions, Court began
1st Tuesday (7th day) of August, 1764, at Childsburg.
221 "Ordered that Tydence Lane, Thomas Albred, Herman Cox, Adam Mofit,
William Willbourne, Jr., Semore York, Henry York, Edward Wilbourne, Wm. Homes,
Isaac Kirnes, John Hayes, Wm. Norton, John Springer, Jr., James Martin, Edward
Cowan and Jacob Polk...lay out a road, from the county line between Rowan and
Orange, crossing Sandy Creek, about 2 miles above Guess's Mill, thence into the
best and most convenient road leading to Cape Fare"
222 "Jane Albread, Admx of John Albred, dec'd, returns an inventory."
Based upon some of the names of those Thomas Albred, listed on page 221, it
is seems
obvious that Thomas Albred was Thomas Allred. Would this also mean
that John and
Jane Albred or Albread were John and Jane Allred? If so, what does this mean?
Sometime after Jane Albred or Albread returned the inventory for John Albred,
she was involved in a lawsuit in Orange County. If anyone has done research on
this John and Jane, please share your findings so that we can put the case to
rest since this is a thread left hanging...
I was given to understand that those listed in other documents or
associated with the inventory were researched and not found to be helpful or of
no connection to the Allred family. For this reason, it is a very difficult to
take someone else's word for something. If I ever decide to work on this line
again, I think I will see what I can do to research them myself.
