Descendants of Thomas Allred,
Jr. held their annual reunion June 3, 2001 at The Moody Center in
Hanceville, Al. Three of the six children of Thomas Allred, Jr. had
representatives attending.
Lemuel Allred was represented by Ricky Alred of Attalla, Al and his sister
Earline (Alred) Barr and husband, B. B. Barr of Hoover, Al. (This family
changed the spelling of their name, however they are descendants of those who
use the original spelling of Allred).
Nathan Allred was represented by Joyce Kent of Rossville, Georgia. Andrew
Allred had the largest representation through the lines of Andrew Allred, Jr.
and Joseph Allred, which included the following: Allen and Pat Allred, Greg and
Susan Allred and children, Caleb, Jennifer, Seth, Rachel and Will, Dr. Phillip
Smith, Emmett Lee and Muriel Allred, Marguerite (Allred) Freeman, Frank and
Telula (Allred) Thornton (missionaries to Romania), Karon (Thornton) Baker, Joe
and Dot Caldwell, Virginia (Caldwell) Phillips, Ginny (Phillips) Dutton, Eleanor
Mitchell, Doris Griffith, Harold and Marguerite Jackson and sons, Edward
and Wayne, Woody and Jane Wallace Jackson, Ruth (Jackson) Ashwander, Lonnie and
Dorothy (Jackson) Drummond and son, Phillip, Julian Bland and grandchildren,
Joshua and Stormy Bland, Bill and Peggy Allred and daughter, Cindy Van Ormer,

Fifty-six attended the reunion and enjoyed sharing a delicious meal, taking

remembering ancestors who were good role models by honoring God, family and
country, giving future generations a rich heritage.
