RMA Meeting 31 Jan. 2004 Minuets of the RMA (Rocky Mountain Allred’s) meeting held at Larry Allred’s home, 447 North 200 East, Farmington, Utah 801-451-2742, 2 PM to 4 PM 31 Jan, 2004. Present: Larry C. Allred, Bob Olson, Glen Allred, Sherral Goodrich, Linda Bronson, Elsie Allred, and Loni Gardner Linda Bronson talked about the reunion plans, how the date of the 19th of June was selected, rather than the 26th of June. She explained all the amenities that the Murray Park had available for us. She talked about the various meals, i.e. every one is encouraged to bring their own lunch. If they didn’t and would like to RSVP by the 4th of June, She would provide a meal of Chicken, Salad, and a roll. She told us about the arrangements that were made at the Reston Hotel at 5335 College Drive, just off of the 5300 South Exit, for those who needed a hotel room. Loni Gardner agreed to work with Dawnell Griffin ho proving her Data Base and submitting it to the Family History Center. Loni agreed to put together a committee to help in that effort. Bob Olson gave us a briefing on what he and his brother Bill are planning for advertisement for the reunion. We talked about including in that advertisement, information about the Stained Glass Overlay auction. Larry told Bob that he would email to him the AFO database that Linda had sent to him, so he could get the email addresses for the RMA members, so that he could get the electronic posters sent out to everyone of the members with that capability. Loni expressed that there is a way to get the names of the submitters of Allred information to the Family History Center, so that this electronic information can be sent to them as well. She would get back with Bob on how to get it. Linda said she would talk with her sister Sandra and find out id she would consider being in charge, and putting together a small committee for keeping the RMA web site posted with new and up-dated information. Larry told Linda to be sure and let Sandy know that if she agreed to this job, that she would need to be to these meetings. The question was asked, about the Photo Archives and what was being done with them. Larry indicated that Asa and Teri Allred agreed to take on that task, but have since left and gone back to Missouri. He assumed that they took the equipment, material and all back there with them. He also told us that he had passed on to them the $295 dollars that had come from the former Photo Archivist, for materials and supplies. This had included the earnings over and above the original $200 that had been given them. (Bad move) They are supposed to be putting things together so that CD’s can be made of the Photo Archive, that family members could buy and be able to see and print them out, as they would like. It was also expressed that a CD be made up for sale, of all the histories that are available. Others said that some may not want a CD with every History, but may only want those directly related to them. Larry indicated that a CD could still be made with just that information, or even a simple 3-1/2” floppy disk with their desired histories. Linda indicated that Carl’s wife Sandy would still handle the Raffle for us this year. Larry asked everyone to be thinking and considering what should be in the raffle. Larry indicated that he was having made, a wooden plaque of the winter scene with the house, yard, and picket fence, like what is on the Trivet’s we sell, and the words, “Home Sweet Home”, and also, “The Allred’s” carved on it; for the raffle. Larry is having a second item made that would be there for everyone to look at and if desired, to place orders for it. This piece is simply their name and House number. For instance Larry is having one made for himself, that say’s simply, “The Allred’s 447 North”. Which could be put out on the street on the mailbox post. Larry asked everyone to put on their thinking caps and for our next meeting on February 29th to be prepared to discuss various themes for this year’s reunion. To be prepared to discuss the issues with the copy machine, the Stained Glass Overlay and whether or not we should get involved with credit card service through Pay Pal. Pay Pal is an online credit card service. Linda Cooper says that she, Eddie and even Don is using it with good success. Dawnell is preparing to do an up date for and at the reunion, on the new information she has come up with on Reuben Warren Allred. She will also be prepared to give an update on her research on our roots. Loni and Sherral asked about putting together a coloring book for the children of scenes that would depict our family heritage. Larry asked them to come up with the pictures and any working they wanted on them, and he would put them together. Linda is putting together a program for the reunion, but a suggestion was made to have some men dressed up to look the part, and a skit or dialog performed between James Allred, Isaac Allred and their Brother William Allred. The dialog would have to be related to some thing that happened before William was killed. This would have to be something that took place from the time of “Zion’s Camp” or through the Missouri persecutions, as William died in Illinois shortly after their expulsion from Missouri, as a result of those persecutions. The meeting was adjourned at 4:05 PM January 31st 2004 |
