wpeD.jpg (169465 bytes) It was a beautiful day - perfect for working outside.  Sunny and high around mid 60's!!  Everyone arrived at the cemetery at 9am and immediately went to work  Franklin had started earlier in the morning and had already cut down several trees by the time the rest of us arrived.  More storm damaged and/or dead trees were cut down and brush, dead limbs, etc., were moved to the outer edges of the cemetery property. wpe7.jpg (149575 bytes) Mr. Vuncannon, who owns the land and cow pasture bordering the property, dropped by for a visit and offered to bring his bobcat by to move all of the debris from the edge of the cemetery to his pasture where he'll burn it.  He also offered to remove a couple of large tree stumps from the new picnic and rest area that we have created.  wpe17.jpg (165800 bytes)

wpe13.jpg (129139 bytes) Linda took new photos of several of the tombstones and the new rest / picnic area which you can view on this page or on the Allred - Trogdon tombstone page.   Becky pieced one tombstone together from pieces that were broken and scattered over a 5 foot area from a large tree that had fallen several years ago.  We also re-set the tombstones of Daniel Free and Levisea Allred so they are standing proudly over their graves now.  These two tombstones had fallen and were slowly getting buried by forest debris.

By 1:30 the cemetery was looking really great and we were tired!
